What a Pain in the Finger

When you etch the panels into the dome, The Dremel cuts a line that is about
1/16 inch wide and it's a rough cut.
So I had to file the cuts with a 1/8 inch file to get then as smooth as I could
get them.
They are not perfect, But I also noticed on the real Interrogator the panels
are not perfect either.
Once everything is cut and filed, Allot of the panels get covered with extra
goodies that the droid carries.

I still have more work to do on the pie panels, But this was as far as my finger
could handle for today.

Marking the Dome

I'm working on getting all the panels marked so I can etch them with the Dremel.
The thing about the Aspect domes is you have to adjust the measurement because
the Aspect dome is shorter than a standard dome.
So, As I get the markings all finished I won't have much to post.
But I will as soon as I can.

Pie Panel Etching

I bought a engraver today, Thinking I could etch the panels into the dome.
WRONG!!!
I had to take the Dremel and carefully etch the lines without cutting through the dome.
Free handing these lines is a real pain and then using a file to smooth and fine tune the edges is even worse.
The lines will not be perfect and in this picture it's hard to see the line edges,
Because they are clear.
I know it looks really cut crappy, But it's not. The plastic just makes it look this way.

Dome's

I have 2 Aspect Super Domes for this project and since they have a screw fitting
in the center of each dome it will make it easy to connect the domes together.
Here's a picture of the dome when you first get it.



And this is how it looks after you sand all the lettering off the top and sand the rest for the paint to stick.

Yeah I know, Another Blog :o)
But I can't control myself and I allways wanted a INTERROGATOR DROID.
